Exchange of experience on participant-centered learning approaches

About Us & our partners

The Society for Legal and Economic Education is a non-profit organization based in Prague. It organizes study abroad programs for U.S. universities, develop educational programs in entrepreneurship and project management. In 2008 a LLP Study Visit on PM (Project management – learning from successes and failures of educational projects) organized, in 2010 another one (Project management – learning from educational projects. Our team members are participating in a Grundtvig Partnership “Project management for SMEs – exchange of experience for trainers”. Our team is running an European Social Fund (ESF) financed project on “Development of knowledge and competencies of students and faculty at the University of Economics, Prague in the field of PM and their certification”. In this project we certify faculty and students according to standard methodologies (PRINCE2, IPMA, PMI), develop new courses and especially a new graduate minor in PM. The NGO currently runs an ESF funded project on entrepreneurship skills for NGOs/SMEs in a eastern CZE. Our team members have been involved in course development and innovation, distance study courses, courses with videoconferences, games and simulation.

Tomas Bata University was estabilished in 2001 on the foundations of the former Faculty of Technology which existed since 1969. The University is comprised of  six faculties: Faculty of Technology, Faculty of Management and Economics,Faculty of Multimedia Communications, Faculty of Applied Informatics,  Faculty of Humanities and Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management.  The Faculty of Management and Economics offers two Bachelor, two follow-up Master, and one Doctoral degree programmes. It is in the process of developing a Lifelong Learning form of studies at a Bachelor's degree level and a follow-up Master's degree programme.

 

The second project partner is Projectmanagement Group of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. This University is over 100 years old. Its close cooperation with the business world affords it an especially practical relevance, which is one of the reasons why the WU is consistently ranked among the top institutions out of 120 in Austria, Germany and Switzerland for international business education. Objectives of the PROJEKTMANAGEMENT GROUP (PMG) are the education of students in the elective programme “Project Management” at the University of Economics and Business and the development of future-oriented management know how. Objects of consideration of education and research activities are project management, programme management and business process management, management of project-oriented organisations and management in the project-oriented society.

 

The third project partner is IPA Slovakia. IPA Slovakia is an association established in 2000. The company belongs to the leading companies in the area of consultancy, design, research and education for industrial enterprises in Central Europe.
